A new book, a new blog…
Mama, PhD is just starting to make its way out in the world, and yet my attention is split between that and my new book project, Learning to Eat, which I’m co-editing with Mama, PhD contributor Lisa Harper.
As the book proposal makes the rounds, we’re blogging about feeding our kids. Right now, our summer travels have us writing about learning to eat in Hawaii, in Paris, and on airplanes, but eventually, we’ll get back to where it all started: the kitchen, the playground, the dinner table.
Come join the conversation!
I love the new blog! I just read through all the posts–but for some reason, google reader can’t find a feed. Oh, no!
I am so excited to read your new blog. I’ve read a few posts and will return to comment- how fantastic it is! I am undergoing a food adventure in my own life- I am working hard to eat much more like you all seem to eat now- I will continue reading for inspiration. Fruits, veggies, whole grains. I am trying hard to crowd out all the processed stuff with real, yummy fods. I had fallen prey to thinking that as long as the animal crackers were organic, they were good for me- oops 🙂 I am tackling my own challenges now but know that I need to move on to the girls very, very soon. This blog will be so very helpful!
Congratulations! I’m so excited to see Learning to Eat getting off the ground, and I can’t wait to read the book.
And, you know, since you had Mama PhD and Learning to Eat so close together, they’ll play with each other really well and be great friends…. 🙂
What a wonderful project, and a great new blog for me to sink my teeth into (I couldn’t resist.)
I’ve just begun Mama PhD, and this book sounds fascinating too. I’m doing my dissertation on temperance, and love thinking about (and cooking, and definitely eating) food and food issues. And as the mom of a 3-yr-old, food issues just seem to be compounding around our place.
I like what you said, Elrena, but just remember to watch out for the time when Mama PhD and Learning to Eat start stealing each other’s makeup, fighting over clothes, and competing for dates to the homecoming dance…
