Does "vegetables" count as one? I think I have 10 different vegetables in my fridge right now! This is impossible.

I could subsist on the following 10 if I had to: fresh fruit, milk, bread, Marmite, cheese, turkey (sliced and ground), yogurt, salad greens, pasta, canned tomatoes and chocolate. Okay, that’s 11. We can call Marmite a condiment. Really I also need: Joe’s Os, oatmeal, crackers, beets, dark green leafy veggies, broccoli, zucchini, onion, garlic, beans (black, white, garbanzo), almonds and black tea. And three neighborhood restaurants: Peasant Pies (savory pies), Gordo’s (burritos) and Arizmendi (pizza).

I’d like to see how many foods make up the typical Gourmet reader’s diet!

I would have to say rice, potatoes, corn (I can't eat wheat so those are in all pasta, baked goods & breads) tomatoes, dairy, broccoli, apples, peanut butter, ground beef, chocolate.

I eat a lot more different kinds of veggies, fruit and meat but to fit it into ten I have to chose my most frequent. I think I could survive on the above list. With coffee, of course :)

I'm having a hard time with this...I think we're still caught up in cooking lots of different dishes for the kids to try. But, my ten would be: pasta, couscous, rice, cheese, tomatoes, eggplant, peas, beans- black beans or pintos, chicken, salmon or tuna. (and unlimited spices, please!). :)

I think before we were together Todd was amongst the "one in five." He's not there any longer!
